It doesn’t matter where you live, be it one of our great cities, a suburban commuter belt town or a rural village the signs of man and nature are all around us.
Factories, shopping centres and housing estates rise like modern-day mountains and forests all around us, pylons march like metal trees across the landscape while factory chimneys rise above the tree line.
Man’s structures impose themselves on our landscape, some have been there for so many hundreds of years that they become part of the landscape, others stand out like a sore thumb. But once man abandons them nature is quick to reclaim them and the ground they occupy.
With these thoughts in mind I created an audio-visual sequence called “Man and Nature” I hope you’ll enjoy watching it and that it will get you to think about man’s relationship with nature.
